Melaine Pohlman, MT-BC completed her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from the University of Dayton in 2000. Since 2002 she has lived in the Chicago area and maintained a successful private practice providing individual and group music therapy services to children and adults with developmental disabilities as well as older adults.

Melaine has been on the Illinois Association for Music Therapy executive board since 2003 and served as president of from 2008-2013. She currently serves on the AMTA Assembly of Delegates and participates in frequent presentations and educational activities regarding Music Therapy. Melaine is the 2014 recipient of the Great Lakes Region of the American Music Therapy Association Service Award.

She plays oboe and English horn in the Northshore Concert Band, which rehearses weekly and performs several concerts throughout the year.
